Is It Really Worth It To Spend Money On Tumbling Classes For Toddlers
Right next door to my chiropractor there is a toddler gym. There are floor to ceiling windows in the front and I see brightly colored mats and tiny tumblers going in and out of the doors happily every time I pass. I am dying to check out their tumbling classes for toddlers. In fact, ever since I learned that one of the bean’s toddler friends learned to do a solo somersault, I am almost obsessed. The problem is that the tumbling classes for toddlers in this area are pricey and so I am stalling. I have a free introductory class in my pocket but I am trying to hold on to it until the weather officially turns, forcing the Bean and I to move our activities indoors!
To be quite honest, before the Bean came into my life, the very idea of a gym for toddlers seemed ludicrous. I wondered aloud why you would not just go outside and play with your toddler. What was a fourteen month old going to do in tumbling classes for toddlers that you could not do on a few blankets in the yard?
Now granted, before I became a parent I thought a lot of things about parenting were ludicrous and I was captain of the “one day you will live to regret being so mouthy about your ideas of parenting” club.
When it comes down to it, you just have no idea what you are going to think or do as a parent. I am sure the musical toddler classes at the library are not necessary, I could sing Itsy Bitsy Spider with the Bean, but she loves the classes, so we go. I am sure I could teach her to do a somersault without enrolling her in tumbling classes for toddlers but I think it would be a hoot to watch her in this class.
I know that we do not need a pricey toddler gym to have fun and I know she is not going to leave that first class doing back flips. I don’t know if I will ever splurge on a pass for these classes. I have found loads of free entertainment for my Bean and I think we can find other things to spend our money on. I will be going to our free class but I think I will try to teach Bean to do a somersault on my own
