About Me

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I am Jessica and the wee one in the pictures is my daughter Bean (Bean is only her blog world name, I promise I am not pulling a Gwyneth Paltrow and trying to compete with Apple)! I am just trying to make the paparazzi work a little harder. She is the apple of my eye (corny pun intended). The tall strapping hunk behind me.  He is my husband,  yup,  I get to make out with that guy!   He is also the glue that holds our family together!

I am a full-time mom and Interior Designer and most recently a cancer patient.  I am hoping that writing about it allows me to not only capture all the amazing (and not so amazing moments) of this experience called mommyhood, but that I can also share my experiences with others and learn from their experiences on the way.

This is My Journey.  There are a lot of balls in the air and I juggle it all, some days better than others.  I have dropped a lot of balls but every day is a new adventure and these new experiences from my Bean's first smile, to her first projectile vomit to her obsession with Scooby Doo and horses, is what keeps me on my toes.

I love crafting,  in a 'digging through garbage to make something fabulous' kind of way.  I am always finding new adventures for my family.  I cannot sit still for even a moment so I am always looking for something new to dip my toes into!  Some projects go well,  others end up in the graveyard of crafting gone very, very wrong (or the basement,  as we once referred to it).

I work everyday to make our home a happy and healthy environment (or as healthy I can be with a french fry ADDICTION!) in a thrifty and sensible way. Sometimes it works, other days it is a hot mess,  but it is my mess and I love every bit of it.

In June of 2014, I was diagnosed with Stage 3C Colon Cancer and I added full time cancer patient to my already cramped resume of full time mom, wife and Interior Designer and well, since I was barely finding time to brush my teeth and get to the grocery store before...it made things very interesting.  In January of 2015,  I was handed a piece of paper that said NED No Evidence of disease and I kicked of my shoes in celebration (ok,  actually I just took a nap,  but I did have champagne for breakfast).  Now I am picking up the pieces,  re-evaluating what is important and learning to slow down,  which I think may be a genetic impossibility with my Type A control freakish-ness. So please,  join me on my Mamalicious journey!
